What to expect from these keyboards
My keyboards aim to offer a good balance between quality and price, providing a handmade product at competitive costs. It is an ongoing challenge, but I believe this approach gives customers more flexibility in terms of setup and maintenance compared to industrial products.
My goal is therefore to provide instruments primarily for amateur musicians, offering a handcrafted product that remains economically accessible. I believe that professional players often have different resources available and can therefore easily find what they need locally without problems, and can more easily discuss and obtain from a local maker exactly what they are looking for.
As we all know, musical keyboards can come in many different forms and can be built using completely different parameters. It is not possible to create a standard keyboard that satisfies every customer and every repertoire. Inevitably, I express my own point of view in the construction process, which is certainly partial. In my opinion, what I create is a good compromise; however, I often see that what is an advantage for some can be an unacceptable flaw for others.
Adjustments always have physical limits that must be respected, and everything is explained in the user manual. The manual must be read and understood, and its instructions must be followed carefully, otherwise there is a risk of causing damage. If a customer has any doubts, they are welcome to contact me for further information. I try to include as much detail as possible in the manual, but if something seems unclear or missing, I will be happy to provide additional explanations and update the documentation.
Touch—meaning the perceived response of the key action—is even more subjective. For example, if you purchase a spring-based keyboard, you will feel the spring during use. The firmer the touch you prefer, the more noticeable the spring will be, and vice versa. Some people find this unpleasant, while others do not. Some consider it unusable, while others find it perfectly suitable and appreciate it for its ease of maintenance.
If you choose the version with touch simulation, you will notice a slight “click” at the beginning of the key press. This can be adjusted slightly via a screw, but only within a limited range. It cannot go from extremely subtle to extremely strong without causing the screw and magnet to collide, producing noise. This system is necessarily calibrated based on my own experience—which is subjective—and on the choice of screws and magnets, with the goal of offering an affordable and manageable product. Here again, some will consider the system flawed or unusable, while others will find it very effective and versatile.
Of course, touch simulation is only a simulation: one should not expect it to provide the same feeling as a good mechanical pipe organ under the fingers. It is physically unlikely—if not impossible—for a virtual product to reproduce such a complex and unique sensation.
What I want to emphasize is that it is extremely difficult to provide a product that suits everyone’s preferences. I am here to help, so if you encounter issues or difficulties and provide detailed and precise information about what you need, I will certainly do my best to support you and find the best solution.
If you feel unable to make adjustments yourself or simply do not have the time, it would be best to discuss everything in advance, so that the product can be properly adjusted according to the customer's preferences as much as possible. Otherwise, the most practical solution is to send the keyboard back to me so I can personally assess what may need improvement or modification. Shipping costs and customs duties are the responsibility of the customer.
In any case, customized products cannot be returned, for obvious reasons—especially after months or years of use. However, if the keyboard is a basic version—unpainted and without pistons or other custom modifications—we can discuss the possibility, provided that the product is not damaged and has just been shipped to the customer.
